Career plateau is the state that it’s impossible to get promotion in his career. And it’s easy for prison police to have this pause in their career development, as they have especially life environment and work partner.Based on the previous studies of career plateau at home and abroad,300of prison police in Jiang Su Province have been selected to finish the corresponding questionnaire, which is revised from the abroad scale. Results were as follows:1. Career plateau contains four factors:Mentality plateau, hierarchical plateau and job content plateau and skills plateau.2. The alpha reliability of revised career plateau questionnaire is0.8207. Four factors are not only independent but also correlate moderately, which shows that the construct validity of the scale is reasonable.3. Significant differences of prison police’s career plateau were found on six variables of only children state, family residence, marriage situation, age. work seniority and family income, but no significant differences on gender, and educational level.4. There are significant correlations between prison police’s career plateau and job satisfaction.
