Yuan Kejia is considered the important poet and theorist of the systematic “newPoetry modem” theory. He has written a series of new poetry research articles in1940’s, discusses the current status and outlet of the China’s modernism Poetry, andgradually formed his own unique poetic theory. His poetry theory is the inevitableresult to the development of Chinese New Poetry, and cannot get away from thewestern modernist poetry and its theoretical implications. At the same time, his theoryis closely related to the south west United University’s cultural environment. Thepoetry theory of Yuan Kejia elucidated the pathways of the modernization of theChina’s modern Poetry, pushed the Chinese modernism poetics theory furtherconsummation. His theory drew lessons from the western modernism poetics ideasand revised them, and laid theoretical foundation of the China’s modernismpoetics.His theory has important historic significance and realistic value.This paper mainly includes four parts. The first chapter mainly analysis thetheoretical sources of the Yuan Kejia’s theory of poetry. Yuan Kejia Emphasized theChina’s modernism Poetry should inherit the poetry tradition of the China’s ethnic art,and absorb the method and artistic nutrition of the western modernist poetry, In orderto construct the China’s New Poetry and its aesthetic character. The second chaptermainly analysis the thought of the modern theory of YuanKejia. He points out that themodern poetry has three pillars:“reality”，“symbol”and “wit”. Yuan Kejia stressesthat the poet should pay attention to the real life，understands symbolically the realworld, makes the poems more philosophical with the metaphysical implication. Thethird chapter analysis of Yuan Kejia’s “new poetic dramatization theory”. Yuan Kejiapoints out that the objectivity and in directivity are the important principles of the newpoem Dramatic and contribute to strengthening the poetry expression characteristicsand strong emotional effect. The fourth chapter mainly discusses the significance and value of Yuan Kejia ’s Poetics theory. We are sure that the Yuan Kejia’s poetic theorydraws lessons from Chinese classical poetics traditions based on the westernmodernism poetics theory，promotes the development of Chinese Modern Poetry,constructs positively the China’s modernism poetics theory, which has importanthistoric significance and realistic value.
