Try To Talk About The Japanese Cultural Diplomacy (1991-2012),

Culture is not only one of the main factors which can represent a country’scomprehensive strength, but also one of the approaches to enhance people tounderstand and communicate each other during foreign affairs. As the information eracomes, the culture has become increasingly important in international relations.Cultural diplomacy becomes an important part in the activities of a foreign affair aswell, which has an extremely important strategic effect and value.Cultural diplomacy has been an important part of Japanese diplomatic strategy.Especially in the last two decades, cultural diplomacy has play a pivotal role in thefield about enhancing Japanese international image, achieving national interests andboosting the Japanese economy. Based on summarizing, distinguishing and analyzing,this thesis shows that Japan has redefined national interests and built an effectivemechanism by peaceful means to take hold in international community.In order to respond effectively to the international confused situation, Japan,China’s neighbor, has taken the lead to make changes in actively promoting culturaldiplomacy. Therefore, China should catch up with Japan, and develop our culturaldiplomacy with Chinese characteristics soundly and quickly.
