After the end of the Cold War, the relations between Russia and Poland had enteredthe transition period. Because of historical animosity and national interests, and manyother issues, bilateral relations stumbled with constant disputes. This is the result ofsafety factors, economic factors, historical factors and the post-Cold War internationalpolitical situation changes, as well as the European geopolitical map of the changes invarious factors. Smolensk crash occurred, relations between Russia and Poland showedeasing trend. However, the structural contradictions of the historical animosity, strategicpositioning differences and the impact of the United States (NATO) and the EuropeanUnion’s policy towards Russia still exists. Therefore, we can foresee, under theinfluence of the United States (NATO) and the European Union’s policy towards Russia,the political relations between the two countries will be difficult to obtain substantialprogress in a short time; in the situation of economic and trade cooperation warming,the two sides in the economic field will still be the coexistence of cooperation anddisagreement; deepening trend of the great power game, the Ukraine and Belarus willcontinue to be the object of contention for Russia and Poland.
