The increasing aging population has become a global problem, which is much more serious in China. The traditional family pension mode is weakening. At the same time, institutional pension is far from satisfying the great need. Community pension mode is becoming popular and it adapts to the trends in urban cities. Through research and analysis about need and supply, the essay is to find problems and restrictions, on the basis of which to put forward suggestions.The research site is community S in Wuhan city, which is the family member courtyard of a former state-owned factory. Most of the old people are retired worker or laid-off workers. Because many old people are not well educated or have bad eyesight, the research makes use of empirical analysis rather than questionnaire survey. The author has deep conversation with eight old people, two children of old people and two workers in community. There are three main parts, including the need of community pension, the supply of community pension the recognition of community pension. As for the need, it mainly refers to life care, medical service and spiritual entertainments. As for the supply, it includes the subject, contents and methods. As for the recognition, from the comparison between family pension, institution pension and community pension, we can know the recognition and satisfaction condition.From observation and interview, we can find that different old people have different need, such as the oldest old people and young old people, the healthy and ill old people, the well educated and bad educated old people, who emphasize different need. As for the supply, it mainly relays on government rather than multi-subject. The supply content is far from enough. The supply method is lack of market element. As for the recognition, the old people and their children support community pension but it needs improvement.On the basis of research, some measures are put forward. For example, there should be various community pension service, more providers and market element.
