Empirical Study On The Migrant Peasants’ Household Registration Transfer Status

The dualistic household registration system for urban and rural causes household registration of peasants who come into city unsolved, leaving them in the edge of the city for a long time.With household registration system reform ice-broken and deepened, urban and rural integration strategy propelled, migrant peasant registered and settled down in city, namely their household register transfer status, attracts social attention. This paper, taking269migrant peasants from QY County, Hunan Province as samples, carried out empirical research on their household register transfer current situation and influential factors by the methods of documentation, questionnaire, interviewing to collect data and statistical method such as variance analysis, regression analysis.The paper consists of six chapters with first chapter introducing research background, purpose and meaning. The second chapter systematically summarizes related literature. The third chapter expounds research design. The fourth chapter focuses on descriptive analysis of basic living conditions of surveyed samples and current situation of household register transfer. The fifth chapter investigates the factors and the influential degree that factors such as migrants’ own characters, family living conditions in their household register transfer status. The sixth chapter gains main conclusion and provides several suggestions.Main research results are:Migrant peasants’ own characters such as education level, income, occupation type and family living condition have obvious influence on household register transfer status. Accordingly we put forward three proposals:1.Deepen the reform of household registration system, lower the threshold of household registration classifyly and promot the reform of social security and other supporting systems.2. Increase investment in the cause of education to improve the peasants and their children’s education level and human capital.3.Accelerate the construction of new rural, radiate the urban civilization to the rural and promote the process of urban and rural integration.
