After the accession of Obama to power, the American government made some quickadjustments in the domestic and foreign policies, and gradually established the “back toAsia-Pacific” strategy. The new Asia-Pacific strategy is more focusing on the development ofU.S.-Asia-Pacific alliance and the integration of the system of economy in Asia-Pacific. Thischange is mainly due to the upgrade of importance of Asia-Pacific and the rapid developmentof Chinese power. Apparently, the purpose of this strategy is to strengthen the containment toChina. This thesis is including three parts: the introduction, the main body and the conclusion. The first part of the main body is the analysis of the establishment of the Obama’sAsia-Pacific strategy, from three facts, which are that America relies on Asia-Pacificeconomy more and more; America pays more attention to Asia-Pacific Area; America makesfurther strategic contraction to Mid-East. On the base of the analysis, it’s easier to understandthe changes of the Obama’s Asia-Pacific strategy. The second part is about the contents of the Obama’s Asia-Pacific strategy, based on thediscussion of the aims, means, inheritance and creation of the strategy. The main aim of theObama’s Asia-Pacific strategy is to strengthen the controlling and the American leadership inthe Asia-Pacific Area. Military presence, alliance system and economic integration are thestrategic means. Inheritance is presented in the following the American Asia-Pacific strategicaims, strategic means and strategic methods. Meanwhile, creation is presented in themeasurements that the Obama’s Government takes on China. The third part is mainly on the influences to China, and also making some proposals andideas of reactions to the Obama’s Asia-Pacific strategy. There are both chances andchallenges to China. On one hand, America changes the relationship with China, and bepositive in keeping touch with China, which makes more and more space for cooperation. Onthe other hand, however, strengthening American military presence disorders the situationaround Chinese borders. American intervening in South China Sea makes the issue morecomplex and hard to be solved. On this basis, what we should do is face it with confidenceand create a better environment for political and economic development from the perspectivesof politics, economy and military. In political area, we should widen the conversation withAmerica and countries around borders. In economic area, we should make progress inconstruction of economic integration. And in military area, we should develop militaryconstruction based on national condition, which continuously upgrades Chinese militaryforce.
