In recent years, with the rapid development of information technology, digital resources havebecome the main source for the people to obtain information. The libraries, which treat providinginformation resources as the main duties, are increasing the proportion of digital resources comparedwith paper-based resources. Especially, the university libraries have purchased a large variety ofdigital resources, in order to meet the demand of the teachers and students for studying, teaching andresearching. However, there come some problems: whether continuous investments in all sorts ofdigital resources deserve their worth or not, how much they can affect the scientific researches anddisciplinary constructions. These problems need deep researches in the use conditions of digitalresources in universities. Therefore, this thesis analyzes the utilization of digital resources in detail, discusses the contributions to the outputs of papers by using resources in universities. And then thethesis provides some suggestions for university researching works and the disciplinary constructions, and some decision-making references for the follow-up constructions of the digital resources. So, it isnovel and meaningful to select the disciplines as the breakthrough point of this thesis. The main research of the thesis is to explore relationships between the utilizations of digitalresources and the development of the disciplines in universities. Firstly, this thesis discusses theresearch status on digital resources in China and abroad using knowledge mapping. Then, the researchanalyzes the basic situation in the utilizations of digital resources in Nanjing University ofAeronautics and Astronautics by using Bradford’s law of Scattering. And based on collecting dataabout the outputs of papers, the degrees of cooperation and the citations, this thesis discusses therelationship between the use of digital resources and disciplinary constructions by the methods ofcitation analysis, social network analysis, and correlation analysis, etc. What’s more, the researchquantifies the contributions of digital resources to the development of the disciplines by the means ofmultiple linear regressions, and evaluates the adaptability of digital resources to the disciplines by theway of four-quadrant analysis combined with the cost of the use of a variety of digital resources. At the end of this thesis, some proposals for related problems are listed, and future researchworks are indicated.
