With the deepening of the reform of the education in China, in order to promote the quality education and training the modern talents for adapt to the social development needs, many experts and scholars being experiment of the university sports teaching. Along with the development of college PE elective course, and how to improve learning enthusiasm and initiative in students’ physical education become the research focus. This paper selects the teaching class public basketball option class in Tonghua normal university, being two rounds of teaching experiments to verify the feasibility of the mulit-level teaching in the basketball option class.This paper uses the literature, expert interview, mathematical statistics, logical induction, teaching experiment induction and so on are researched.The research results indicated that by mulit-level teaching, technical evaluation and standard grades of one-handed shoulders shot, running shot and devices for change to change a hand dribble in the experimental class were higher than the comparative class; there is no change in experimental class and comparative class to standing long jump and 1,000 meters ran scores, but the two scores of 50 meters run and pull back run were better than before, the experiment class’results better than the comparative class.The research conclusions of mulit-level teaching are as follows: 1. the standard grades have improved with the comparative class and experiment class after the experiment, experiment class’results better than comparative class. 2. The technical review scores have improved with the comparative class and the experiment class on after the experiment, experiment class’results better than the comparative classes. 3. The physical quality has improved with the comparative class and the experiment class on after the experiment, experiment class’results better than the comparative classes. 4. The mulit-level teaching improve the learning interest, enthusiasm and initiative, it enhances the unity cooperation consciousness and sense of competition.The suggestions of mulit-level teaching in public physical education: this paper by experiment to verify the feasibility of the mulit-level teaching in the basketball option class. Advice of being experiments in other projects elective course, make the teaching method have been the perfect. In the teaching, it needs careful understanding of students to achieve rationality; meanwhile should be paid attention to the communication between different groups, and timely adjustment between different levels.
