Nowadays higher education has changed from elite education to mass education, andcomprehensively improving the quality of talents has become a key problem in our society, sounder the guidance of the theory of all-around human development, quality education has becomean important problem to be solved in the reform of higher education. People’s thoughts have beenstudied for a long time, and the study of Marx’s comprehensive development has the significanceof theoretical guidance. As the guiding ideology and aim of higher education in China, the theoryof all-around human development and its relations with quality education are the focus in thisresearch.The all-around human development includes people’s thoughts, the content of all-around,and the ways of development and so on. This thesis will attempt to explain the theory ofall-around human development and quality education, analyze the states of higher education inChina, and supply some suggestions for the problems of higher education in China.This study mainly introduces the historical background of these problems, clarifies thecontent of all-around human development based on the meaning and the duo states of research.From the philosophical level, the all-around human development is analyzed, and the thoughts ofall-around human development and Marx’s important contribution to the theory of all-aroundhuman development are introduced. Through the analysis of all-around human development, theimportance of this subject and the practical significance of the study are pointed out. The sixmajor issues are explained in the Chinese higher education: the heavy intellectual less weightmoral, heavy professional theory and practice of light, irrational course system-liberal arts andscience courses separated, vary in terms of the quality of teachers, quality education andindoctrination, the situation of education alienation. Furthermore, the correlations between highereducation and all-around human development are analyzed, and the need for developing quality education is explained. Finally, according to theoretical analysis and research above, methods forsolving the main problems in higher education and the ways of achieving quality education aregiven. The six methods are used to solve the problems of the heavy intellectual less weight moral,heavy professional theory and practice of light, irrational course system-liberal arts and sciencecourses separated, vary in terms of the quality of teachers, quality education and indoctrination,the situation of education alienation. In this way, the theory of all-around human development as aguide is achieved, and developing the quality education in higher education gets a new step.
