Along with the rapid development of the society and economy in the new period, Chinesecolleges are confronted with the unprecedented interior and exterior requirements oftransformation and pressure of survival. Therefore, how to renew the college administrativephilosophy, improve the organization culture and construct the college organization culture thatfits for the features and requirements of the new age becomes a problem which requiresimmediate solution for the administrators of the colleges.However, it is a pity that many researches on college organization culture are confined tothe discussion within the theoretical frame instead of integrating college organization culture intothe particular college organization environment and cultural tradition, which leads to the lack ofpracticality and foresight in the research results. Taking a college in Shandong Province as theexample, adopting the research methods of investigation and interview, this paper is aimed atlooking into the current situation of college organization culture and the problems in it, in orderto explore the causes and put forward the solutions. With the study in this paper, the authorexpects to offer certain references to the research on the case college, and be of assistance to theresearch on the organization culture of other colleges in China.On the base of analyzing and summarizing the related connotation,development history andearlier stage academic output of college organization culture, under the direction of therequirements of the integration of individuality and generality, humanism and scientism,dynamic and constant innovation, systematic ness and periodicity, by the study and analysis ofthe case college, the author finds out in this paper that there are some organization culturalproblems on all the spirit layer, system layer and material layer requiring solutions. By thefurther study, it is found that the deep seated problems lie in mainly the following aspects:①theconstruction of college organization culture is superficial and unspecific;②college organizationculture is used only as a tool instead of educational approach;③the administrative perception isold fashioned and the construction of the system lacks innovation;④the limitations in theperception of systematic requirements of college organization culture.Therefore, to solve the problems in college organization culture and impel the research on it, the author suggests that the case college should focus on the following aspects in the next stage:first, increasing the publicity of college spiritual culture and strengthening the cohesion andcharisma of the college; second, improving the regulations, organization structure andperformance appraisal of the college and stimulating the initiative and enthusiasm to greatlyenhance the competitiveness of the organization; third, dissolving the debt crisis and speeding upthe college infrastructure construction and campus network construction to provide materialsecurity for the construction of college organization culture; finally, improving the quality of thefaculty, adapting to the developing requirements of the college at new stage and constructingthe college organization culture which meets the developing requirements of the new stage withjoint effort.
