With the fast growth of economy and rapid development ofsociety, the value orientation of students in higher vocational &professional schools is facing many challenges. Therefore it isnecessary and better to find out the problems within them and treatthem in a new way. The author has had a clear awareness of thepresent situation of the value orientation of students in highervocational & professional schools in China. And his paper analyzesthe causes of the challenges and finally finds out the possiblesolution. It is hoped that the paper is helpful to the students for theirroad of socialization.The paper first presents the notion of value orientation and thepresent situation of it in higher vocational & professional schools.Then the features of value orientation of students are drawn and thecauses of such features are discussed: firstly, the students inhigher vocational schools are special in terms of the students’background and psychology; secondly, the teaching staffs arespecial in terms of the structure of teachers, instructors, as well asthe leaders, who may ignore the moral education of students; thirdly,the current background has a negative effect on the students,including social background, campus background and familybackground; finally, the cyber has a negative impact on students.After that, the paper puts forward channels through which thestudents’value orientation is constructed, namely, first, emphasizing mental health education; second, strengthening theconstruction of teaching and teachers; third, optimizing thenegative teaching environment; fourth, speeding up theconstruction of the campus network. The last part is about thesignificance of constructing students’value orientation, namely,first, the common value orientation is the premise of school’sexistence and development; second, the correct value orientation isone of the two objects of education; third, the correct valueorientation is the foundation of personal happiness; fourth, thecorrect value orientation is the premise of personal growth.
