Teaching method is the behaviors and ways’union in the teaching process which is to achieve the education target. Including:traditional teaching, inquiry teaching, experience teaching, dialogue teaching, cooperation Learning. The updating of the content of course and the changing of the method of teaching is the main contant of the new curriculum reform.Teachers’teaching method have changed of not or how to see it means of lot to the new curriculum implementation. Curriculum orientation is the guiding ideology of the curriculum design.It reflects the faith of the curriculum goal,contant and teaching strategy. Consequently, we believe that there are close bond between teachers’ curriculum orientation and teaching method. Research by teachers of different sexes,different age groups and different areas to investigate the characteristics and relation of teachers’curriculum orientation and the choice of teaching method.Based on the investigation of the southwest of China, we Safely draw conclusions that:1. Secondary school teachers strongly believe in the cognitive process orientation, but they generally do not reject the other orientations.There are significant differences between urban and rural teachers in science and technological development orientation, humanistic orientation, social reconstruction orientation and academic rationalism orientation. Different gender teachers do not exist significant differences in curriculum orientation. There are significant differences among teachers of different training state of the new curriculum in cognitive process orientation. There are significant differences between teachers of Key secondary school and general secondary school in cognitive process orientation, science and technological development orientation, humanistic orientation, social reconstruction orientation and academic rationalism orientation.There are significant differences between teachers of middle school and high school in science and technological development orientation.2. There is highly assess of Secondary School Teachers for inquiry teaching, experience teaching, dialogue teaching, cooperation Learning but not for traditional teaching. There are significant differences between urban and rural teachers in traditional teaching and dialogue teaching. There are significant differences among teachers of different teaching age groups in dialogue teaching. There is not significant difference between teachers of Key secondary school and general secondary school. There are significant differences among teachers of different education background. There are significant differences among teachers of different training state of the new curriculum in traditional teaching.3. Secondary school teachers’ curriculum orientation and teaching method low related, and it achieve significant level.4. Secondary school teachers’curriculum orientations can significantly forecast teachers’teaching method.
