With the development of social economy, existing as a social ideology, education also faces with new challenges and requirements. It has become the focus of attention about how to effectively develop the potential of students and to train students’ innovative spirit and practice ability. In the traditional classroom instruction, the main instruction way is "teacher tells while students listen", the students are tend to play as the passive knowledge receiver role. But the new society requires students not only be good at knowledge obtaining, but also become the master, learn to learn, the main idea of which is to have the positive participation in classroom. Middle school is the key place where students cultivates their values as well as habits. Therefore, with this background, it is the necessary and feasible to make a research on the participation in classroom instruction of middle school students, and put forward strategies to promote the students to participate..This study selected a junior 2 class of city-level middle school located in the rural and urban part of Chongqing as the research sample, and try to make a ecological research of students’participation in class, using the related theories, through the classroom observation, interviews with teachers and students. The main purpose of the research is to make an investigation of the status of students’participantion in calss and point out the existing problems and the insufficiency, then make the corresponding attribution analysis. Finally the study puts forward strategies that teachers should do as a leader of the class from what respect improved, so as to promote the students to participate in the classroom instruction, and improve the instruction effect.First is about the introduction. The instruction of this research puts forward the reasons for the research, and proposed problems. On the basis of sorting out and summing up relative researches in and abroad, the paper makes an clear understanding of what the pre-research enlightens and analyzes the shortcomings of the relevant research and determine the direction of this study and research value. At the same time the paper defines the related concept, determine the research methods, namely the classroom observation and openness of the interview is the means and tools.Second is about the main body. It mainly includes four parts:the first part illustrates the meaning of the participation of students in class, which mainly includes the interpretation of the concept, the basis on which students participate in the classroom instruction (including the theory basis and the realistic basis), the characteristics and procedure of instruction participation for students, etc. The second part is ecological research through interviews and classroom observation, to get acquisition of the realistic situation of students’ participation, mainly including the status quo of the students’ participation, the worth recommending results, and the existing problems and insufficiency, as well as a brief analysis of the factors that influent students’ participation in class instruction. The third part is on the basis of the survey result, and puts forward the specific suggestions to promote the students to participate with some feasible measures. This part is mainly aimed at case of teachers, which demand teachers not only should set up a concept of letting students participate in instruction, more should take effective instruction strategies to promote the students’ participation, and makes students become the master of study and the host of the class. The fourth part is the last word, summarizing the research achievements and deficiency, in order to get improved and perfected in a follow-up study.
