In general, language teaching materials is composed of text selection system, knowledge system, study-aiding system and exercise system, and exercise system can best indicate the revolution of educational philosophy and the direction of new curriculum reform. We can say text selection system only shows the course content, while the role of exercise system is to dig them up, so that it can help to improve students’abilities effectively. Good exercise not only digs up the the content of the text in-depth, but also acts as an important way of expanding knowledge, as well as improving comprehensive language proficiency of students. With the in-depth study of textbook, a growing number of researchers believe that exercise system should not only aim at students, but also become an important means for teachers to "determine teaching content". Exercises in appropriate numbers and rich contents will significantly help to improve the certainty of teaching content. The original intention of this paper is through comparing the exercise systems of studying materials of Renjiao and the Hong Kong version, analyze the strengths and weaknesses of exercises in the two sets of textbooks. Through comparative analysis, the author would like to provide some useful suggestions for the compile of textbooks, and optimize the settings of exercising materials.This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is paper introduction,from the origin of research and meaning, the topics definition, the thinking and methods three aspects to discuss paper. The second chapter is the analysis of the papers part, through extensive reading of papers and books, sum up novels, essays, poetry, drama four class on behalf of the text as horizontal coordinates genre, exercises quantity, topic and content for the longitudinal coordinate of the analysis framework.In selecting representative in the text, try to cover representative works of ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign, Same writer’s text in two sets of teaching material, with a similar works analysis, ensure that representatives of the teaching material from two sets of text, are covered. With strong analysis significance. In the third chapter is the comparison part of the paper, in the second chapter analysis of two sets of teaching material characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, the third is to summarize these advantages and disadvantages, and give an example. Chapter four is learning, Through the two, three chapters of the analysis and comparison, foster strengths and circumvent weaknesses, summarize writing practice system process and the method, and give every kind of genre written exercises examples. The fifth is summary of part, in order to compare and conclude the full text.
