Research On Higher Vocational College Students’Employment Orientation And Their Parental Rearing Behavior And Personal Values

Occupational interests and occupational values play a vital role in human occupational activities. The match of the individual occupational interests, values, types and environments may promote the individual abilities, as well as strengthen the individual professional compatibility, stability and satisfaction. It is seriously important for us to understand and examine the relationship between individual occupational types, parents rearing pattern and personal values, which can help us to do better employment activities.Adopting the EBMU, College students’ personal values scale and Holland Vocational Preference Inventory(VPI), this research conducted a questionnaire survey among752higher vocational college students. We applyed the variance analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis etc. by the statistical software SPSS17.0. The following conclusions are drawn:1. The higher vocational college students tended to be society-oriented and business-oriented.2. Sex, grade and major made a remarkable difference in higher vocational college students’occupational tendency.3. Mother’s warmth positively correlated social-oriented occupational tendency. Over-protect positively correlated reality-oriented. Stern punishment positively correlated reality-oriented and research-oriented.)4. Higher occupational college students’personal values affected all the occupational tendency. Wisdom, balance and harmonious, fame and gain, E-oriented and social values correlated with all of the occupational tendency, but morals and compassion dimension and reality-oriented, diligently dimension and reality-oriented, tradition-oriented, affection dimension and research-oriented hade no statistical significance.5. According to stepwise regression analysis, we have discovered that wisdom dimension could positively predict R,I,A,S,E occupational tendency, E-oriented dimension can positively predicted S,E,C occupational tendency. Father’s warmth can positively predicted R,I,C,S,E occupational tendency, but mother’s warmth can negatively predicted R occupational tendency; father’s refusing denial could positively predict R,I occupational tendency, but mother’s over-intervened and over-protect could negatively predict S,E,C occupational tendency.
