The Current Situation Of Higher Vocational College Students' Occupational Qualities And Countermeasures

Since the 1980s, the discussion about quality education in our country has deepened step by step, from part to overall, from theory to practice. Quality education has become the main target of the higher vocational education in the 21st century. The notification"Teaching Requirements about the course---university students'career development and employment guidance"issued by the Ministry of Education in 2007 demands that this course should be brought into optional or compulsory course. The policy shows that the Ministry of Education is very concerned about improving the university students'occupational qualities. On the other hand, students'employment has become hot spot issue in recent years. The important reason is that some students lack occupational qualities and they can't meet the employing units'demands. So the higher vocational colleges shoulder a heavy burden of training application -technology- oriented talents for the society. Facing the severe employment competition, the followings have become the problems for the educators, such as how to bring new ideas and content into quality education, how to break through the traditional educational teaching form, to explore new theory about training higher vocational talents'qualities and training mode, to improve the occupational qualities of the graduates, thereby enhancing their employability and competitiveness.This article combines literature methods with practice survey methods. Firstly, make relevant research through access to domestic and international background and for college students, graduates, employers and empirical investigation of similar institutions, master the employing standards and requirements in some representative enterprises, understand the status of the current vocational college students'occupational qualities. Secondly, analyze the students'current status and enterprise requirements rationally and find out the gap between the errors about training students'occupational qualities and the social reality. Finally, present the current status and existing problem in training contemporary vocational students'occupational qualities from the perspective of theory and reality, put forward reasonable suggestions on establishing training occupational qualities in higher vocational colleges, help college students establish a sense of competition in the university, train the qualities in accordance with business and social needs, and enhance employability and competitiveness.
