In the process of education informatization is moving toward the innovative stage and and the promotion and application of IT, how to achieve effective integration of information technology into instruction, in order to achieve the education and teaching optimization, is one of the problem that to be solved in the process of education information. Therefore, to promote the effective application of IT in the curriculum and teaching is inevitable choice of education information and reform of school curriculum.Moodle is a free open source software, which is developed based on social constructivism and human-centered design ideas. Moodle has three main functions:course management, learning management and website management. It is one of the most popular learning platforms in the world for basic education, higher education, teacher education. Professor Li Jiahou thinks that Moodle is one of the focuses of the curriculum design, and further pointed out that "the combination of Moodle and subject teaching" is Moodle’s directions of research in China. Therefore, this paper aims to research the effective application of Moodle on the curriculum and teaching; in order to provide a platform to implement daily teaching activities for subject teachers, to build personalized virtual learning environment and a rich library of teaching resources and to avoid repeating the high investment in hardware,and to provide a reference for teachers on how to conduct similar curriculum design and application in actual teaching.The research follows the idea of question-raise, question-analysis and problem solutions. The paper raises the question how to better promote the effective application of Moodle on the curriculum and teaching, then analyses how to conduct Moodle-based disciplinary curriculum design and application, at last solves the problem:conduct Moodle-based design of the curriculum and teaching and apply it to the curriculum and teaching, investigate the application effect and analyse the inadequacies. This research uses a combination of theoretical discussion and empirical research. The specific contents of the research are as follows:Firstly, using the methods of literature research, with reference to domestic and foreign research results already, the paper summarized current research and application of Moodle at home and abroad, to find the entry point of the research.Secondly, set up the Moodle platform On the Institute server, and created IT pedagogy course. System has been tested to run properly at present.Again, put forward an application design model with Moodle features of the course. Four stages were summed up in the model of Moodle course application design, which were course overall design phase, course modules design phase, curriculum implementation and management stages, course evaluation and the perfect stage. The author carried out application design for IT Pedagogy curriculum according to the model.Finally, through action research, Moodle-based IT Pedagogy curriculum was used in teaching and learning of IT Pedagogy of2009Educational Technology undergraduates. Through questionnaires, the practical application of Moodle-based IT Pedagogy curriculum was investigated and analyzed. Data of empirical analysis showed that:the course has made good results, and students are willing to continue to learn the online curriculum. The corresponding recommendations were put forward for the inadequacies of curriculum design and application, so as to provide theoretical guidance to improve the curriculum and to promote the effective teaching of the curriculum.
