Research On Speciality Setup Of Vocational Colleges With Regional Economy Coordinated Development

Speciality setup is not only the tie between vocational colleges and regional economicdevelopment，but also one of the core steps of vocational education reform. In recent years，highervocational education in China has made great strides，however we must be soberly aware that inthe period of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan there would be a serious demand of technical and appliedworkers with the industrial transformation and upgrade as well as the strategic adjustment ofeconomic structure. But the speciality setup in some extent can not satisfy this great demand.Therefore，the embarrassing situation of the “skilled worker and labor shortage" appears everyyear in the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta region staged. It is under this circumstance，my paper synthesizes the methods of documentary research and case analysis to clarify theproblems of vocational colleges’ Speciality setup. Then，I put forward to the point of view that thespeciality setup should be coordinated with the development of regional economy，thereby，topromote the sustainable development of the students，the higher vocational colleges，as well as thesubject groups and regional industry cluster.This paper can be divided into five parts: The first part described the background，thesignificance and the current achievements of this study; it’s also pointed out the innovation pointsand the research methods of my study. Additionally it defined some related conception of thispaper. In the second part it analyses the reasons of the problems appeared in speciality setup. Asto the third part it focus on the summarizing of the basic characteristics and successful experienceof speciality setup of vocational colleges in the United States and Germany，so that we caneffectively learn from them. Part IV is on the basis of the following three theory: the sustainabledevelopment theory the system theory and theory of the people-oriented philosophy，so as to makea deep analyze of the speciality setup. In the fifth part the paper figured out some useful strategiesto promote the harmonious development between speciality setup and regional economicdevelopment from the "point" line "surface three different levels. Further more，in order toconfirm the operability and effectiveness of these strategies the paper combined with the case ofsome vocational colleges.Through this thesis，the author hopes to come up with some practical speciality setupstrategies of higher vocational education to serve the regional economic development. Thus，wecan ease the embarrassing situation of the “skilled workers and labor shortage”. And devote mytrifle efforts to the leapfrog development of higher vocational education in the period of the“Twelfth five-year plan”.
