Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT) is explicitly advocated in English CurriculumStandards for Compulsory Education and Junior Middle School (trial version). TBLT candevelop students’abilities of language, thinking and communication in real context with clearobjectives and improve students’cooperative ability greatly. It has the unparalleled advantagesover traditional teaching methods. However, TBLT developed from the background of secondlanguage teaching in foreign countries. There will be some problems if it is intact transplantedinto Chinese elementary teaching, and it will be hard to suit to the Chinese teaching reality.TBLT must have the transformation if it wants to be used widely in China. The article probesinto the construction of Chinese sinicized TBLT mode in three aspects: theoretical rationale,principle and strategies, mode structure.The article is divided into five chapters:Chapter one is literature review. This chapter mainly introduces the definition of task andthe basic features of TBLT, and reviews the current research status of TBLT in and out of China.The research question of thesis is proposed through the limitation of previous study.Chapter two introduces the theoretical framework of TBLT from two aspects: one islanguage view of TBLT, the other is teaching view. The second includes four theories: theSociocultural Theory, the cognitive theory, the constructivist theory and input and interactionisthypothesis theory.Chapter three is the study of Chinese sinicized TBLT mode. This chapter starts from thereason of problems which appear from the practice of TBLT in China, and then discusses thefour principles and teaching strategies to conduct Chinese sinicized TBLTmode.Chapter four discusses the Chinese sinicized TBLT mode, which composes of four parts:task presentation, task learning, real task cycle and task review, and then gives an example toillustrate the mode with detail.Chapter five is the study on teaching experiment of Chinese sinicizd TBLT mode. Theresults show that this mode can greatly improve the students’speaking ability and communicative ability.Chapter six comes to the conclusion of the thesis. The Chinese TBLT inherits and absorbsthe essence of traditional teaching methods and combines it into the task-based languageteaching, which embodies the concept of quality education. It is a new teaching mode and ishelpful for English teaching in middle school in China.
