According to the Life-span development psychology, love and marriage are both vital tasks in post-graduates’development, which is closely related to their happiness. Past researches show the problem of love among post-graduates is increasingly evident, and it becomes one of the most major elements in causing anxiety. Thus, research on post-graduates’love anxiety is meaningful in strengthening the mental health education as well as in improving the mental health. Based on empirical study, this research systematically discusses the problem of love among post-graduates. The research object is the post-graduates in Chengdu and Chongqing. Questionnaires about the love anxiety and its influencing factors are prepared in reference to domestic and international research. The characteristics and causing factors are discussed in the thesis, and targeted educational countermeasures are also proposed.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)In this study, the prepared two questionnaires are with good reliability and can be used as an effective tool for the research on post-graduates’love anxiety. Varying degrees of anxiety are found in graduates’lack of love, process of getting along, parents’agreement to the relationship, and physiological responses of love anxiety. The rank of score level of each anxiety is like:process of getting along> parents’agreement to the relationship> lack of love> physiological responses of love anxiety.(2)There are gender differences in love anxiety. Male graduates scored higher than female in the process of getting along, physiological responses of love anxiety and the total questionnaire.(3)No significant age differences but the elder, the higher score in love-lack anxiety and the lower score in parents’agreement to the relationship.(4)Different grades cause differences. Second-year graduates score significantly higher than the first-year and third-year ones. (5)There are differences between in-love and not-in-love graduates. The latter one scores higher in the process of getting along and physiological responses of love anxiety.(6)Different characters vary in love anxieties. The introverted score higher than the extraverted in the process of getting along and the total questionnaire.(7)No evident statistical differences are shown in the different sources, majors and love experiences of post-graduates.(8)In the study of the influencing factors, support from significant others, life stress and parents’ideas and cognition to love affect the anxiety differences. After the path analysis combined with demographic variables, eight elements may influence and predict love anxiety of the post-graduates in Chengdu and Chongqing in varying degrees. They are support from significant others, life stress, parents’ideas, cognition to love, source of post-graduates, characters, genders and whether being in love or not.
