The pros and cons of the teaching quality is directly influence the quality and standard oftalent training of the universities, therefore, teaching is becoming the central task of collegesand universities, and the teaching quality is regarded as the lifeline of colleges anduniversities. During the process of constitute the teaching quality assurance system in theuniversities, to estimate the teaching level of teachers is the most important element, andmoreover, the assessment of classroom teaching quality from the students is the crucial one inteaching quality assessment.This paper focus on the research status of university students’evaluation of teaching athome and abroad, and the principles of modern classroom teaching evaluation and the designstandard of evaluation of teaching index system are the theoretical basis. In this paper we willdiscuss the construction mode of the typical university students’evaluation of teaching indexsystem, and learn from the index element and connotation of teaching evaluation, to collectthe ideas of teaching evaluation index from the students by means of conduct questionnairesurvey in five different colleges and universities in Hunan Province, and at the same time,listen to the suggestions of index system from different groups of universities such as leaders,experts, educational administrators and teachers. Then, we will use SPSS to perform dataanalysis, and discuss the differences among the index to eliminate the false and retains thetruth and clears. And we will analyze the differences of students’cognition on the importanceof the teaching evaluation index deeply and come to a conclusion. Meanwhile, using PCA(principal component analysis) and weighted average method to determine index weightcomprehensively, and using quadrantal diagram analysis model to clarify the interval meaningof each index. Finally, we will set up a students’evaluation of teaching index system forclassroom teaching quality in (common) universities, which features in its scientificavailability, guidance, and quantizing.This research is an optimization structure of present students’evaluation of teachingindex system in undergraduate universities, and has a certain theoretical significance and practical value. This research firstly has a great demonstration effect on promotes theuniversity teaching reform and strengthens the teaching management; and then it plays anactively guiding role in promote the development of teacher’s teaching skills and increaseteaching quality; thirdly it has the directly educational significance to enhance students’cognition of teaching evaluation and regulate the behavior of teaching evaluation; last but notthe least, this research is also sought to be innovative and extended in teaching evaluationmechanism construction and forward theories.
