The Research On China "985 Project" Platform And Base Construction

Subject construction is the basic work of colleges. Today, interdisciplinarydevelopment has become an important foothold of subject construction. A further studyof our high-level“985 University”depending on innovative platform of science andtechnology as well as innovative basement of social science, which means a lot notonly to the construction and development of“985 University”, but also to theexcellence of higher education. By consulting a large number of documents andnetwork data, the author found out that there are new features in the platform/baseconstruction of“985 University”: Platform/base construction is attached greatimportance to the country; based on the strong discipline high level University;constant promotion of system reform subject construction. However, compared withthe first-class university in the world, "985 University" still has some defectsinfluencing the construction of platform/base construction: lack of academic masters;weak academic originality; lagging of talents training; weak social application; largegap in evaluation mechanism. Main reasons: loose restriction of administrativeauthority to the academic authority; insufficient support of the state and localgovernment on“985 universities”; on-sided concept of interdisciplinary construction.Therefore, "985 University" must further advance the innovation system mechanism,enliven academic atmosphere; to promote interdisciplinary, fusion, to cultivate newgrowth point of the discipline; promote the cross and compromise of subject; cultivatenew root of subject development; construct the assessment system, effectivesupervision of platform/base construction. In a word, keep working on the constructionof the first-class university with Chinese characters in the world.
