A Comparative Study Of Service Learning In American Higher Educational Institutions And College Students’Social Practice In China

In resent years, the college students’social practice activities are carried out in our colleges and universities extensively. The county、society、universities and college students gradually pay more attention to the educational function of college students’ social practice.However, there are many problems in the process of carrying out social practice, for example, focus on the social practice’s form only, insufficient educational function, confined coverage of students, inadequate social support. Service learning in the United States is also a form of that the colleges and universities students participate in the social practice, this form makes a good combination of students’study and social practice and has had good effect on society、universities and students.This paper attempts to contrast service learning in American colleges with college students’social practice in our country and analyses the similarities and differences.At last, this paper summarizes the inspiration of service learning in U.S. colleges and universities to China.
