By carrying out a survey among512college graduates who have worked for less than5years, this paper has studied the current situation of college graduates’work adjustment and explored the factors that influence the work adjustment. Firstly, we compiled the Work Adjustment Questionnaire. Secondly, we analyzed the current situation about work adjustment. Then we used the Work Adjustment Questionnaire and the Big Five Personality Questionnaire to study the relationship between work adjustment and personality. Finally, by using the Work Adjustment Questionnaire, the Staff Satisfaction Questionnaire, the Job-quitting Intention Questionnaire and the Organization Commitment Questionnaire, we studied the relationship between the work adjustment, the organizational commitment, the staff satisfaction and the job-quitting intention. In this study we found:(1) The gender and the number of job changes do not have significant effects on the total scores of work adjustment; However, the scores on work adjustment of the junior college students are significantly lower than those of undergraduate students; People who have worked for less than6months get the highest score on work adjustment; People who own more than5000yuan per month get higher scores of work adjustment than those who own less than5000yuan per month; Those professionals and official clerks gain higher scores of work adjustment than those workers and machine operators; The survey results show that the scores of work adjustment of college graduates differ a lot in regards to their degree levels, working years, salary levels and career types; In the other9dimensions of work adjustment, there are also some differences between different groups.(2) The Work Adjustment Questionnaire contains9factors named as maladjustment, sense of belonging, position competency, work attitude, work Research on work adjustment of college graduates and it’s influencing factors Abstract environment, role clarity, positive experience, sense of matching and work pressure. This questionnaire has acceptable level of reliability and validity.(3) Personality can predict the work adjustment. Those who get higher scores on conscientiousness、agreeableness or extraversion can be more adaptable to their jobs; Those who get higher scores on neurotics would have lower level of work adjustment; Openness does not affect work adjustment significantly.(4) Work adjustment can predict job satisfaction positively while job satisfaction can predict job-quitting intention negatively.
