The educational development is the foundation of the social and economic development of one country, and teacher is the core of Education, therefore, teachers’ quality is the key to the success of Education. In recent years, along with the implementation of Quality Education and the Curriculum Reform of Basic Education, teachers’ professional development issues have gradually become the focus of society’s attention. Although the government and all levels of educational administrative departments issued a series of policies to promote and protect, but because of some specific reasons, the degree of our teachers’professional development did not achieve the desired standards, so it is necessary to research this question.This research is an empirical research, it takes Hunan Province Zhuzhou City as an example, investigate the amount of450teachers from9different primary school. This paper adopted research literature, questionnaires, interview methods and statistics comprehensively. We design the steps carefully, control the process strictly and analyze the results seriously. Hope to make the research more scientific and reasonable. This research can be divided into six dimensions, namely, the consciousness of professional development, the professional development needs, opportunities of development, conditions that provided by organizations, the approaches of professional development and the existing problems during the development. On the basis of full understanding of the present situation in primary school teachers’ professional development, we analyzed the reasons, they are the insufficiently demand of professional development, the lack of opportunities in professional development and the social atmosphere is not good. Then from the society, schools and teachers themselves put forward some advice to promote the teachers’ professional development: perfect the teachers’qualification system, reform the teachers’education system, establish a guarantee mechanism; create a good external environment, provide appropriate institutional guarantee, establish new concept of Teachers and improve teachers’ quality.This paper hopes to through the research to arouse people’s awareness to realize the importance of primary school education, establish the primary school teachers’ professional image, promote their professional consciousness and train their professional affection. Make more professional personnel to actively join in the career and improve themselves constantly in the work.
