The course setting research on art characteristic course in ordinary high school,it’s the embodiment of the new course reform, it’s the important way of inheritanceand innovation of traditional culture, it’s also basic components of ordinary highschool course reform. It has important significance for the comprehensivedevelopment of people、inheritance and innovation of local culture、harmoniousdevelopment of people and society.The course setting on art characteristic course in ordinary high school, it’snative generated from ordinary high school. It can develop local art and cultureresources advantage, it can reflect concept of running a school、culture demand ofstudent and construction of characteristic course, it’s a process which is combinationof national course and local course, it has diversity and selectivity. It hascharacteristics of diversity、nature grewing、personality、profession and research.According to theory, multiple intelligence theory is its premise of the course settingof art characteristic curriculum, subjectivity theory of personal development is itsfoundation, complexity theory of personal development is its soul、nationality theoryof personal development is its significance.Through the questionnaire survey, the course setting on art characteristic course《Hunan folk art》 in ordinary high school has some problem as below:Socialattention is very low; The comprehension of local culture is passive and superficial;The course setting is formalized; The course resources needs more develop; Themethods of teaching and evaluation is old and simple; Teachers’ quality is scarce,etc.For this, the writer suggests basic thought of the course setting on art charact-eristic course 《Hunan folk art》 in ordinary high school as follow: We shouldcrystallize goal of the course setting to awaken public enthusiasm; We should goback folk life to develop folk course resources; We should arouse create inspirationto encourage diversity teaching; We should respect natural growth of students toreform methods of course evaluation; We should study on local culture to improveteachers’ quality constantly.
