There is a new round reform undergoing in basic education curriculum in China, which put technology course into the basic learning areas, and the general technology course, which is the new course emerging in the reform,becomes the required course for senior high school students. For the purpose of the development of innovative spirit and practical ability, general technology course aims to develop students’ technology literacy, which is a curriculum based on practice, highly integrated, focusing on the creation, integration of science and humanity.lt is bound to generate tremendous role in promoting China’s scientific and technological innovation,but also present new challenges of classroom teaching.Due to the lack of understanding on the new curriculum of the implementers,the lack of the necessary policy support,the lack of material resources and test equipment necessary for curriculum implementation,and the lack of teaching experience and teaching ability of the general technology course teachers, the implementation of the technology course in Fuzhou City turns out to be formalized, inefficient,and unable to reach the target of the new reform, which has been becoming the biggest challenge in classroom teaching. Hence, in the deepening reform process of the current curriculum,it has been very urgent to do research in effectiveness of the classroom teaching of general technology course.Based on the investigation of the classroom teaching of general technology course in senior high schools in Fuzhou, and focusing on the effectiveness of classroom teaching, the research has made study on the realistic situation of the general technology course’ classroom teaching in Fuzhou by questionnaires, interviews, and classroom observation, etc. According to the analysis of the survey results, the author reveals the reasons of inefficient, ineffective classroom teaching in general technology course in Fuzhou in three factors such as teachers, students and teaching organizational culture. Based on the reasons and combined with the general technology course teaching status and subject characteristics, the author proposed strategies in many aspects including the optimization of the teaching organization culture,the improvement of the quality of teachers, the optimization of classroom teaching and the completeness of the evaluation mechanism,in order to offer some help to improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching of general technology course in Fuzhou.
