As the development of science and technology and social economy, knowledge has become the critical capital of core competitiveness improving of university. Therefore, it is vital significant to carry out research on how to use knowledge management to increase faculty’s work performance, promote professional development for faculty, to achieve knowledge production, accumulation, dissemination and shared, application and innovation then to achieve university’s strategic planning and the goal of training high-quality talents for the state and to promote social economic development.Based on lots of previous research achievements, via analysis, development, inheritance, and combining with actual situation of BS institute, put forward some concrete measures on knowledge management of faculty performance management optimization of BS College. The thesis is divided into six chapters:the first chapter mainly expounds the research background and significance, reviews performance management of university faculties and knowledge management research in domestic and overseas, and introduces the methods on researching. The second chapter introduces the knowledge management theory and specific analysis the knowledge management and its relationship between subject and object. This chapter includes the process of knowledge management, expounds the particularity of university performance management, and indicates necessity and realism of implementing performance management which is based on knowledge management on university faculties. The third chapter investigates the current situation on BS College’s basic situation, faculty’s construction and performance management. It also carries out further analysis on existing performance management problems in BS College. The fourth and fifth chapter is the emphasis of this thesis; it defines the basic idea of optimization of BS College faculty’s performance management, then use the method of the balanced scorecard in BS college faculty’s performance management, index system and method of the score. And it designs the four major evaluation subject, puts forward optimum measures on BS College faculty’s performance management. The final chapter summarizes the research achievements and pointed out the shortage on this research and the improving measures.
