Bloom’s New Taxonomy of Educational Objectives is Anderson and other experts’study result that is basis on Bloom Old Taxonomy of Educational Objectives. In theNew Taxonomy of Educational Objectives, the cognitive domain is divided into twodimensions: knowledge dimension and cognitive process dimension. Modern proseexercise as an effective way of reading and appreciation of prose, plays an importantrole in the compilation of teaching materials. Therefore, based on thetheory of the Bloom’s cognitive theory, it is necessary to analyze the designfeatures and to make the pros and cons of evaluation, and to make reasonablesuggestions about the exercise design of text.First of all, comb the current study situation of exercise design of text and introduceBloom’s cognitive theory briefly. Secondly, comb exercise of PEP modern prose andanalyze the design features. Finally, make reasonable suggestions against the problems.In the subject position of the speech practice, provide an analytical framework aboutexercise of text, so that exercise design of text will be more in line with the stylisticfeatures of modern prose and will pay more attention to real-life experience ofstudents, and will be more in line with the level of students’ psychologicaldevelopment.
