The park is an important educational resource in the community, help to promote the development of children in physical, cognitive, emotional, social, aesthetic and other aspects. Parents using park resources to educate young children means that in family education,parents use of the park’s potential educational resources to carry on a variety of educational activities to promote early childhood development.The research firstly analyses the relevant documents and elaborates enlightenment for this research. The Ecological Systems Theory and the Situated Learning Theory are used to be as the base.The methods of observation, questionnaire-survey, interviewing and literature analysis are used to obtain information. Firstly, the researchers through the observation of the seven parks in seven districts of Shanghai city, to get a preliminary understanding of the family education activities for young children. Secondly, the questionnaire for parents to learn more about the parents on the use of park resources for early childhood education. Again, through interviews with parents, in-depth understanding of all aspects of parents’understanding of early childhood education by the use of park resources.Researchers through the collation of research data and data analysis, to explore and analyze the value, time, preparation, area, activities, methods and influencing factors about the parents using park resources to education young children.The results show that parents are recognized the value of using park resources to promote early childhood development and parent-child communication.Sports activities and cognitive activities showed a significant difference between boys and girls,and the cognitive activities growing frequency with the age increases. The parents’leisure time is the main influencing factor. The study also found many deficiencies, such as parents lack the initiative of action, low frequency of using of park resources in early childhood education, low level of father involvement.Meanwhile, as the parents chosen the same time to go to the park, the space and equipments are crowded in weekends and holidays.The research makes some suggestions. Firstly, parents should be more concerned about the nature, games, partners, and leisure needs of the child.Secondly, Parents should be active and effective participation to the young children’s activities. At last, parents should fully understand the side of community resources,and good use of these resources, to expand the channels of family education and improve early childhood education quality.
