Since the new curriculum, the various versions of high school music appreciation textbook gradually put into use, the effect of the implementation and the extent received by students is widespread concerned by the community. However, the emergence and development of new things, have to face many troubles and obstacles, but people’s awareness of the book have to undergo a process. Compared with the passed high school music appreciation textbooks, the concept of new version of high school music appreciation textbook is new, the amount of knowledge is large, the range of information is wide, which is a greater challenge to the Stock of knowledge, cultural literacy, and ability structure of Music teacher. On the one hand teachers need change their ideas, redefine its role in the classroom, to meet the requirements of the new curriculum reform. On the other hand, the transition from the old materials to the new materials, In-depth exploration and research on the new version of the textbook content, structure, ideas, goals is to good use of new textbooks。Hunan Literature and Art Publishing House (the following referred to as Xiang Edition)"Music Appreciation" textbook is the study object of this artical. This artical studies in-depth of the background, use of situation, as well as the content, features, of this textbook. And under the guidance of the relevant theory to examine the textbook, it provides Some new, practical preparation of proposals to the editors of the textbook. It hopes that through this study, showing the structural features of this set of appreciation textbook and helps teachers understand the textbook from different angles, so as to update the teachers’ concept of teaching textbook and promote the professional development of the high school music teacher, in order to achieve better use of the textbook.
