With the continuous development of society, the level of development of specialeducation has become the measure of a country or region the degree of social civilization andan important indicator of economic strength. Special education schools as the most importantcarrier of the material, has become an integral part of the architectural design of an importantresearch topic.The research problems in this paper based on the design process of actual work proposedproject, combined with actual experience of the using side, to do the new design in areas suchas the settings/function/using of the teaching and living space of special education schools,has a wealth of practical basis, and combined with theoretical analysis, field research, hassummed up the design methods about the teaching space and living space, through acomprehensive analysis and comparative study, come to the advantages and disadvantages ofthe old design techniques, and then for the object of study of disability at different ages indifferent capacity and type of children’s daily needs classification, derived their designfeatures of the relationship between teaching space and living space, and then proposed thedesign principles and strategies about integration of teaching life unit in the special educationschools.This paper will always be from the behavioral characteristics and needs about thisparticular group of children with disabilities, focusing on the analysis of the relationshipbetween teaching space and living space in special education schools, and using the feedbackfrom field research and the implementation of the actual project from the author involved into instructions and examples.This paper is divided into four parts of six chapters, the first part is the introduction part,a brief exposition of the background research, meaning, content, methods, establish thestarting point and direction of research; second part of the question, the second chapter,analysis of the theory and research related to the special nature of special education schoolsand design trends, proposed issue to be examined; the third part of the analysis of issues,including the contents of chapters III and IV, through field research the special educationschools, a comprehensive analysis of the current situation come to the design basis, accordingthe points to derived the design principles, summed up the new design concepts andapplicability; the fourth part of the solution, including chapters V and VI, is the focus of thisarticle, after the previous analysis, propose the specific design strategies about integration of teaching life unit in the special education schools, and using the practical projects to validatethe feasibility of new design techniques, on this account summarized the research results ofthis paper.
