Speed up develop professional physical educationteachers is critical to promote accomplish the achieve the goalsrequired in the new curriculum which named 《sports andfitness》.Therefore, making a Study to the development of elementaryschool physical education teachers professional is an urgent issue. Inour study, we apply questionnaires and other methods,reforming newcurriculum background as the perspective, teacher professionalizationas basal thoery, learning the background of teachers professionaldevelopment in domestic and foreign, considering the specialization of PE teacher status in Shanghai (PE teachers in primary school in YangpuDistrict, for example), targeting the goal of the project and practicalproblems during implementation the new sports curriculum at this stage,to investigate the level of specialization of the PE teachers of primaryschool in shanghai. We have specially discussed the specialization level,understanding of the self-development, of primary school PE teachers.We not only clarified the requirements of the standards reform to theelementary school PE education, but also appeal all the PE teachersof primary school to initialtively seek the gap, explore the meeting pointwith the new curriculum, so as to meet the requirment of PE teachersprofessional development stage.Basis on the above all,we also seek toexplore a way to promote the development of professional PE teacherfor primary school by schools, teachers and individual level, so we holdthe opinion that the PE teachers in elementary school should learn howto learn, good at learning, and hold a modern concept of lifelonglearning. At the same time,some construction idea for developingprofessional primary PE teacher.
