| With the rapid and healthy economic growth in the new century, highereducation in China has been greatly boosted. It has been transferred from eliteeducation to mass education. However, the problem of difficult undergraduateemployment comes along and becomes a highlight.Undergraduate employability is the comprehensive ability related toprofession. It reflects not only employability during the transient period ofseeking jobs, but also stable and lifetime profession suit ability which satisfiespersonal growth. The essence of undergraduate employability includes basicworking capability, professional knowledge, and personalized ability.The problems of undergraduate employability are mainly as follows:deficient ability of innovation, short ability of application, weak ability ofprofessional development, inadequate practice, bad sense of responsibility,etc.The improvement of undergraduate employability is of great value. It is anecessary requisition to mass higher education, the realistic requirement ofrealizing the best possible use of undergraduates, and one of the importantindexes to develop undergraduate quality education.Promoting college students’ employability should adhere to thepeople-centered, the entire guidance, improvement of students’comprehensive quality and ability to adapt to give consideration to theworkplace, principles of selfadministration, selfsupport and selfpropagation tothe student career development. To build the force mechanism which bases onthe linkage of government, universities,enterprises and students and makes forenhancing undergraduates’ employability, the personnel training mechanismto employment-oriented, the career guidence mechanism of theundergraduates’ individuation. The following abilities should be insisted onenhancing the college students employability: ability to start a business,ability to take part in social practice, ability to adjust themselves to career,ability to seek for the job and the commitment to performing responsibility forthe job. |
