Since the professional league system establishment of Chinese soccer in1994, ithas been developing amidst twists and turns. With the development for more than10years, Chinese soccer has completed the conversion from skillful soccer toprofessional soccer and it is the most promising and business attracting sports marketnowadays. But for the competitive level, Chinese professional soccer is now at adisadvantage in competitive sports, with a decade’s unprosperous development.Compared to the great spiritual wealth gained by China’s traditional advantageouscompetitive sport projects for the Chinese, Chinese soccer brought us disappointmentover and over. The reasons can be explored in such aspects as the developmentenvironment problems for Chinese soccer, soccer system and its development model,however, corruption is an important factor that affects the healthy development forChinese soccer.This article adopts multidisciplinary research methods such as the literature,export survey and logic analysis, sticks to the philosophical principles of materialistdialectics, values, and historical materialism on the profound analysis of thecorruption in Chinese professional soccer. Main reasons obtained in this study are asthe follows: social factors such as politics, economy and ideology and culture providea breeding ground for soccer corruption; soccer employee’s personal valueorientation, occupational ethics imperfection and belief crisis are the internal factorsfor soccer corruption; deficient laws and regulations, drawbacks of the managementsystem and reduction of the supervision system are the external factors.Accordingly, the author puts forward countermeasures and suggestions on thecorruption in Chinese professional soccer based on the reasons above, under a newthinking that combines punishment and prevention, temporary solution and permanentcure. At first, we draw lessons from foreign soccer development model, set up a goodsoccer development environment, optimize the media and press circles, and properlybalance the soccer employee’s interests of all parties; then, we help foster rightvalues, world view and ethics to strengthen the soccer employee’s education ofoccupational ethics; last but not least, we should perfect China’s sports laws andregulations, reform the management system of soccer and improve the system ofsupervision for Chinese professional soccer. The purpose of this paper is to provide a meaningful reference on the prevention and cure of the corruption in Chineseprofessional soccer.
