Research On Education Of Career Planning For Higher Vocational College Students

Vocational education train highly skilled personnel with the overall quality and comprehensive professional ability. In order to meet the real requirements of employment and society, it emphasizes on developing the students’ability such as employability skills and career development capacity. The increasing number of university graduates, the unstable policy of employment, and increasing serious employment situation objectively force vocational colleges pay more attention to career planning education. As the important career planning education begun late in our country and the related research lagged behind which cannot meet the needs of the social development, it is necessary to do some research concerning the vocational colleges students’career planning to adapt the trend of economy social development. At the same time, it provides preference value to higher education reform and government policy-making.Though the rapid development of vocational education adapted to the requirements of development of China’s new industrialization and vocational colleges students were welcomed by employers because of their technique and specialty, higher requirements were bring forwarded by employers and the vocational colleges students education situation was not good according to the survey conducted by employers and graduates. Due to the limit of traditional system, the misleading of social value and the lack of guiding from colleges, there still are problems about career planning education such as the consciousness of career planning, the lack of self-awareness, the ambiguity of career orientation, the insufficient of teachers and the lack of analysis of employment situation and guiding. In order to improve the level of career education guiding and the situation of employment, efforts are needed from colleges, students themselves and the community.Vocational institutions should establish a correct concept of career planning, pay attention to it, and develop a professional career education team; Students should learn self-awareness, enhance awareness of career planning, improve their overall quality, and enhance professional competence; Community should institutionalize career planning, build practical system for students, optimize policy, provide business platform, and create a fair and good employment environment.By the analysis of the education contents and principles of occupation career planning, the problems and the causes of occupation career planning for current vocational college students are elaborated and discussed. According to the experience and enlightenment of the foreign higher vocational college student in this field, a new insight in higher vocational college students’ career planning education was formed and put forward.
