Abstract:As Zankov--an educator in former Soviet Union said:To the effectiveness on education, the important factor is to see the relationship between teachers and students. The teacher-student relationship and teaching effectiveness link together. The writer has been engaged in senior high school mathematics teaching for many years. During the teaching process, she found teacher-student relationship has some impact on teaching effectiveness.In this paper, questionnaires, interviews and literature are the major methods to do the research. According to the teachers and students as the samples in a key secondary school, the author does some researches on the influences of three relationship types between the teachers and students on teaching effectiveness in a senior high school.The teacher-student relationship is classified into the close and harmonious type, the estranging and plain type and the conflicting and contradicting type. The comprehensive questionnaire, the interview were applied to collect imformation from the case school. The influences of the different types of teacher-student relationship on teaching effect were described. An analyses was made to find the causes of the influences.Finally, the author found that a teacher plays an active and leading role in controlling the influences of the teacher-student relationship on the teaching effect. In order to promote the positive effect that the teacher-student relationship makes on teaching and to suppress the negative one, the teachers should pay attention to the harmonious development of the teacher-student relationship and improve teacher selves’quality, including cognition, emotion, knowledge and teaching methods and so on.
