The Investigation Of University Students’ Entrepreneurial Competence And Its Training Strategy Study

The economic globalization and the advent of the knowledge economics era have provided good opportunities for entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurial activities have been an important part of the global economy. Entrepreneurship has become one of the hot topics both in society and in universities and university students have been considered as major potential entrepreneurs. It is very interesting to study university students’ entrepreneurial competence, which will help strengthen its training and promote entrepreneurial activities.Based on the literature review of entrepreneurial competence and the study of previous theoretical models, along with the consideration of university students’ practical situation, this thesis has established an evaluation system for the entrepreneurial competence of university students, including the innovation, the capacity to grasp opportunities, leadership, and risk tolerance. Through a questionnaire survey of271Zhejiang University City College students with various backgrounds and the application of SPSS system, the thesis focuses the analysis of the difference of students’ entrepreneurial competence and the correlation of different parameters of the evaluation system. The study indicates that in the City College the level of students’ entrepreneurial competence is not high, male students show better competence than female students do in entrepreneurial activities, there is no significant difference between the students from different grades, part-time job experience doesn’t affect students’ entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship tutorial programs and students’ background show significant effect on students’ entrepreneurial activities, and so on. Furthermore, this thesis propose suggestions to improve university students’ entrepreneurial competence, including changing the concept of education, integrating resource in university, optimizing external environment, and improving self-quality and so on.
