The17th National Party’s Sixth Plenary Session sent out the call of the prosperityof socialist culture.To carry forward the outstanding traditional culture, continue toexplore the essence of Chinese culture, and develop advanced culture, cultural softpower has important significance. Universities are shouldering the important task ofinheriting and carrying forward the excellent traditional culture, how to integrate theexcellent traditional culture into the daily management and teaching, into theconstruction of campus culture, that become a major practical issue of the colleges anduniversities. A long China’s5,000years of history and culture, although not directlyrelated to mental health, but it contains a rich set of mental health treatment, more isrevealed how people find a sense of inner harmony, psychological adjustment. Lao Tzeas the first person of Chinese philosophy, his book "Tao Te Ching" contains a wealthof mental health ideology. Psychological health education for college students in Chinahas experienced initial, popularization and development, which undergoes30years’history, constantly enriched his theory and practice. It is proved that learning Chineseis not only well received by students in colleges and universities, but also to cultivatethe virtues,and play an important role on improving the psychological quality ofcollege students.This paper starts from this line of thought “explore value-use value-drawinspiration”. and discuses the psychological education ideology of Lao Tze, andexamine the psychological health education of University students, and combinepsychological education in Lao Tze’s thought and the psychological health educationof college students, achieving college students psychological healthy education makethe past serve the present.Paper is divided into four chapters:Chapter one: Introduction. Mainly, account of selected topics of reason, currentresearch and research methods and significance of issues at home and abroadChapter two: Mainly discusses the psychological thought of Lao Tze. Startingfrom the historical background, carding the basic contents of Lao Tze’s thought ofmental education, combined with the Western psychological theories to disuse basic methods on Lao Tze’s thought of mental education, and major features on Lao Tze’sthought of mental education. The same time, in order to more comprehensiveunderstanding of the “Tao Te Ching”,“select its essence and go to its dregs” methodsto explore the modern value of Lao Tze’s mental education ideology, rationality andlimitation on Lao Tze’s thought of mental education.Chapter three: Mainly look the contemporary college students’ psychologicalhealth education through Lao Tze’s thought of mental education. This chapter from thestart with the thought of Lao Tze’s mental education, against the contemporaryUniversity student’s psychological health education, training objectives, educationalcontent and method of education,from three dimension, analysis contemporaryproblems of psychological health education for college students, and find out thecorresponding cause.Chapter four: Mainly discuss enlightenment Lao Tze’s thought of mentaleducation to the contemporary college students’ psychological health education. Thischapter discusses three aspects of educational philosophy, educational content andeducational methods. The author believes that development of psychological healtheducation of college students for30years, most of them come from Western education,which played down the role and application of the fine traditional culture of the mentalhealth education. Therefore, authors excavates Lao Tze’s thought of psychologicaleducation, to enrich and improve the psychological health education of Universitystudents, and continuously improve the effectiveness of psychological health educationof college students.
