In the content of international educational reform, in the pursuit of educationalquality and equity, each country are increasing concerned about the transformationof weak school. Britain began to pay attention to the reform of weak school since the60s of20thcentury, but many plans did not put into practice because of the socialconditions at that time. With the development of the national education and thepursuit of educational quality and equity, Britain issued a series of policies of thereform of weak school since the90s of the20thcentury. These policies continue tochange in practice and gradually perfected. The thesis selects four of the polices:Education Action Zone, Excellence In Cities, Trust Schools, National Challenge.Analyzes the reasons, the content and the implementation of these policies. On thisbasis, sums up the useful experience of the weak school reform, ends with somegood advice to the reform of weak schools in china.This thesis is composed of six parts as following:The first chapter is the introduction. Introduces the reason of choosing this title,research purpose, research situation, research methods and makes a definition ofrelated concepts.Chapter Ⅱ is the background of issuing the policies of reformingweak school.In the influence of the trend of global educational reform, each country began toregard the improvement of education quality and ensuring education equity as itsmost prominent themes. Facing the problem of the conservative party’s BasicEducation reform, the British Government need to respond to the problem. Thechange of the new labor government gives a clear direction to solve this problem.Chapter Ⅲ, ChapterⅢ, Chapter Ⅲ and Chapter Ⅲelaborates the content andthe implementation of the four policies mentioned above.Chapter Ⅶsummarizes the experience and the questions of the reform of weakschool.Chapter Ⅷputs forward some good advice comparing with the current situationof weak school in China.
