| Mathematical computing power is the basis of the three major mathematicalabilities. Looking at all parts of the country ’s math college entrance examinationpapers, we can find that the subjects involving computing power account for arelatively big proportion. This ability is also the focus of college entrance examination. But in recent years’ high school mathematics teaching, I’ve found that some problemsexist in high school students’ mathematical computing power. For example, somestudents don’t know the calculating principles well, only apply the formulamechanically, lack number sense and calculate slowly. Their accuracy is very low.Their operation skill is very limited and operational process is tedious. They have poorrationality, only pay attention to computing conclusions, do not attach importance tothe thinking of the process, and lack foresight of the conclusions, etc. Besides, themajority of high school mathematics teachers haven’t paid enough attention tostudents’ computing power and haven’t taken specific improvement countermeasures,so high school students’ computing power has not been effectively developed, whichrestricts the development of students’ comprehensive ability. Therefore, I want to fullyunderstand the present situation and problems of the high school students’ computingpower through this study and on this basis, I want to develop strategies to improvestudents’ computing power. This paper mainly uses the text analysis, test and questionnaire investigation tosurvey the present situation of high school students’ computing power, looks for theproblems existing among them, and analyses the causes of the problems, seeking formeasures to solve the problems.Through the study, we’ve found that the problem of high school students’ lowcomputing power does exist. There is not a small gap between students’ computingpower and our expected goal. The development of students’ computing powerbecomes unbalanced and the importance of computing power hasn’t been fullyrecognized. Some students haven’t good computing habits, lack computing skills, andhave vulnerable computing psychology, etc. The main causes are the bad study habits, weak master of the mathematics basic knowledge, the poor understanding of theaxioms, theorems and formulas. Teachers and students have not recognized theimportance of computing power and lack effective training meathods. Premature orexcessive use of calculators cause students’ numerical computing power to drop, andthis is also one of the important reasons for the slow development of their computingpower. If we can cultivate students’ interest in computing power, strengthen their oralarithmetic or mental arithmetic training, help them to develop good computing habits, strengthen the guidance to their basic knowledge and basic mathematical thought andstrenghen the guidance to their computing skills and many other aspects as well, wecan possibly improve the computing power of high school students. |
