The Study For Project Teaching Application In Basic Computer Course Of Secondary Vocational Education

Recently, more and more attention has been paid to vocational education in China.A series of policies have been issued to promote vocational education. This is indicatedby expanded vocational education, increased funding, and elevated influence andattraction of vocational education. Education departments at all levels and vocationaleducation institutions have begun to explore and practice curriculum reform in order toimprove the quality of vocational education.This project was designed to explore the role of projects-based teaching insecondary vocational computer courses teaching. Questionnaires, interviews andquasi-experimental research method were applied in this project. Teaching is no longerprocessed in full accordance with the textbooks after project teaching having beeninvolved. Teachers select suitable materials for project teaching after they are fullyfamiliar with the textbooks. This allows students to integrate the theory and practice andprepare for integration into the jobs as early as possible. Evaluation of project teachingincluding student self-assessment, assessment from members in the same group,assessment from other students and teachers’ assessment helps teachers to learn moreabout the students’ studying and helps students to find their strengths and weaknesses,and discover their interests and potential.Project teaching significantly enhances students’ ability of operating computer anddevelops students’ capacity of teamwork and innovation. Also, students’ products andresults awareness are reflected. Project task are finished on time through teamwork.Some problems which are not solved or solved poorly in traditional teaching can besolved using project teaching. This deepens students’ understanding of computerknowledge. Project teaching combined with traditional teaching would improve thesecondary vocational teaching.
