Analysis And Study On Employment Situation Of Higher Vocational College Graduates In Jilin Province

At present, China is at her critical time of taking a new road to industrialization,promoting the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure, changing economicgrowth mode as well as building an innovative country, so we need large quantities ofhigh skilled talents who can solve the challenging technology problems that occur inproduction, and thus the structure and quality of human resources are faced withnewer requirement at a higher level of standard. As one of the key parts of highereducational system of China, the higher occupation education plays a very importantrole in selecting, training, delivering more highly skilled talents who are capable ofapplying their knowledge, abilities and humanity culture to their practical work in thefront line of production.Chinese vocational colleges have mushroomed in the southeastern coastal areaand other places where the economy developed promisingly since1980. Chinesevocational colleges by constant trials, experiments and to some extent drawing on theexperiences from western countries’vocational education find a development roadwhich suits China’s conditions and is beneficial to train occupational skilled talentsextensively. Thus, Chinese vocational education has passed through30years ofdevelopment.Our country attaches great importance to the development of higher vocationaleducation. From1999to2002Ministry of education has unveiled more than30documents on vocational education in order to suit the urgent desire for high-qualifiedlabors and skilled talents to completely build an affulent society. These documentsensure the correct employment direction of higher vocational education graduatesbeginning from the series of basic work, such as improving the management level,faculty strength, training mode, etc.; therefore, they provide the opportunities ofdeveloping students’individual and social vales, which futherly protect the harmonyof the society.The development of modern vocational education is not only the Jilinprovince’necessary demand for carrying out principles and policies set by the centralauthorities but also related to the completion of series of strategic mission such asfutherly developing agricultural modernization, optimizing and updating the traditional industry, developing high-tech enterprises and modern service industry. Inrecent years, higher occupation education in Jilin province is developing so rapidlythat till now, there are22vocational institutions in Jilin province with more than100000full-time students. Higher vocational education has become an important partof higher education in Jilin Province and is making its own contribution toaccelerating the process of popularization of higher education in Jilin Province,speeding up the cultivation of high skilled talents and promoting economic and socialdevelopment in Jilin province.Higher vocational colleges realize their social functions through setting up acomplete system of delivering talents and providing the enterprises with excellenthuman resources. Meanwhile the development of an enterprise is pushed by highqualitied talents; the enterprises maximize its profits by employing and selectingtalents to function inside and effectively training and managing its human resources.One is training talents; the other is in need of talents. The two make up the co-existingrelationship of asking for a job and a talent.However, there are some problems in the process of higher vocational collegegraduats’ employment such as the high requirements of the job-givings, the low payof the graduates, the optimization of the specialities, the improvement of the teachingstaff, the differences between students’attitudes toward job-searching and therecognition of themselves.Through analysis and sutdy on employment situation and tendency of thegraduates from higher vocational colleges of Jilin Province, this paper is meant toexplore a revolutionary route to successful employment of graduates from highervocational colleges. Besides, this paper focuses on how to improve the quality ofstudents in order to promote the sustainable employment of graduates of highervocational colleges in Jilin Province through setting up effective functioningmechanism of employment work, scientifically setting up majors and specialties,strengthening the double-qualified faculty team, improving job-guiding work,reinforcing the individual guidance of graduates, widely win the support of all thepockets of the society.
