WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented teaching model that helps students to learn throughgathering, analyzing and evaluating information from teacher-nominated Internet websites.Based on constructive learning and characterized by investigative study and the informationtechnology and curriculum integration teaching model, WebQuest is student-oriented teachingmodel which utilized internet recourses under the guidance of teachers. It can cultivate thestudents’ cognitive ability, problem solving skills as well as to develop students’ higher orderthinking skills. Since its introduction to China in2001, more and more teachers have put it intheir classroom teaching practice and carried out a wide range of research.In the new teachers training, improving the teaching methods and enhancing basicteaching skills is the core of this train program. One important aspect of basic teaching skillstraining is the training of modern education technology. It is divided in to three modules frominformative teaching design to courseware design. In the training process, the teachers areencouraged to combine their teaching experience and reflect on their own classroom teachingpractice so as to improve relevant information based instructional design. With the assistant ofcourseware in teaching, it is conductive to improve their ability in integrating informationtechnology and curriculum.This teaching strategy matches well with WebQuest teaching model. The use ofindependent research and learning, homework, group discussion, and other forms of learning, isconducive to the students’ mastery of knowledge, and is conducive to the training effectiveness.This paper analyzes the characteristics and problems facing primary and secondary schoolteachers training. In accordance with the concept of adult learning and constructive learningconcept, introduces the WebQuest teaching model into the training process. The article putsforward the application of WebQuest concept of modern education and technical training ofnew teachers. It also discusses the conceptual basis of WebQuest in teachers’ training. Apartfrom this, the author also explores the WebQuest teaching strategies and designs teaching casewhich well combines training objects and training content. At the end of the critical, it analysis the strengths and weaknesses of the WebQuest in primary and secondary school teacherstraining and put forward recommendations.Through the analysis of the creative use of WebQuest teaching case in the training, itproved that the use of WebQuest in teacher training is an innovation to the teachers’ trainingmodel. It changes the way students learn and improves students’ learning motivation andparticipation. It is also useful in improving the understanding of the integration of informationtechnology and curriculum and greatly improves the effectiveness of training. WebQuest is aninquiry-oriented teaching model, the enthusiasm and interest of the teachers participated in thetraining are greatly inspired, more and more teachers hope to apply this teaching model to theiractual teaching.
