It is beyond doubt that Chinese is an important part of basic education and an effective measure to enhance the overall quality. Currently, however, Chinese is in an awkward position, in the average sense, both the educated and pedagogue’s Chinese proficiency and cultural quality radiate downward trend, the phenomenon is an issue worthy of reflection by educational circles in the contemporary era. Chinese is not only formatted but also out of life and becomes rigid. Chinese education is difficult to carry the task of humanistic education and the continuation of national culture. As the most important carrier of culture, Chinese and literature has the function of inheriting and passing on human spirit cultural heritage, but practically this feature has been ignored.In our country, the main position of Chinese education is in primary and secondary schools, students mainly receive Chinese education in their primary and secondary schools, and also this education mode is highly exam oriented. In this situation, how to study through various channels (including family education) to improve the status of Chinese education, to cultivate students’interests, and to improve their Chinese learning ability, is of great significance.Under the guidance of Zimmerman and Piaget’s theory and the premise of the literature review about self-learning at home and abroad, the author investigated and interviewed the senior students and their parents of a primary school in Dalian, and also processed the data with SPSS17.0, this make the results have a certain reliability and scientific.Analysis of variance and correlation were made through three aspects of self-learning related to the family such as family basic information, family parenting style, family atmosphere, and six aspects of Chinese self-learning including self-learning motivation, learning methods, learning outcomes, learning contents. Research finds:(A) Girls’intensity of learning motivation was significantly higher than boys’. Father’s education have a certain relationship with learning motivation and learning environment, while mother’s education have a certain relationship with learning motivation and learning method, Chinese self-learning is related to household income, the better way of learning can be selected in high income family, Chinese self-learning is also related to glass, but not the higher the better (B) In addition to learning content arrangements are not significantly affected, the other effects are present in five areas, the overall trend is that democratic family is better than faire family and authoritarian family in learning methods, learning outcomes of the inspection, study hours, and the use of learning environment.(C) The family atmosphere of language learning is related to the six aspects of Chinese self-learning, compared with other aspects,it has a great impact on the ability of Chinese self-learning. Based on the analysis, the targeted recommendations and the strategies of fostering students’ Chinese self-learning ability in family situations were presented,(A) Enhancing the cultural quality of the parents, focusing on gender differences in students’ Chinese learning, to provide protections for fostering students’ Chinese self-learning ability.(B) Enhancing the build of democratic type of family, to provide power of fostering students’ Chinese self-learning ability.(C) Maintaining a good family atmosphere for Chinese learning, to provide support for fostering students’ Chinese self-learning ability.(D) Improving the contents of students’ Chinese self-learning in six aspects, to promote coordinate development and provide a basis for life-long Chinese learning and quality improving. Let the students gradually become willing to learn, knowing to learn, self-learning and be able to understand what have learned Instead of being passive to learn, to help schools and community bring back the Chinese education into essence.
