As an integral part of education, oral communication teaching did not get due attention due to various reasons for a long time. With promotion of quality education and depth of the new curriculum reform, oral communication teaching catches more and more attention from the education sector. The research results of oral communication teaching have sprung up. As discipline guidance for educational science, psychology is the basis of all the education theory formed. It has self-evident significance in the study of language education.The thesis expands a study of oral communication teaching from a psychological point of view. It aims to explore the new model of oral communication teaching by the psychological mechanisms, then improving the efficiency of oral communication teaching. The main part of the thesis is divided into three parts.The first part tells the theoretical feasibility of the penetration of psychological science into oral communication teaching. It focuses on the necessity and the possibility of the penetration demonstrated from the theoretical point of view. First, it analyzes the process of oral communication and mainly talks the inner psychological mechanisms of oral communication teaching. It summarized the psychological characteristics performed in the oral communication teaching according to the above mechanisms. Then it summarizes up the psychological factors included in the teaching of oral communication. The author analyzes the materials, methods and the psychological factors included in the process of teaching. So it proves the possibility of penetration into teaching from the theoretical point and summarizes the specific ways of combining the two.The second part tells the teaching experiments which can prove the effects of the penetration of psychology. It proves that the psychology can improve the teaching of oral communication in the real teaching environment by teaching experiment and quantitative research. Teaching experiment respectively starts from three dimensions including listen, talk and exchange according to the results of theoretical analysis. From the experiment results, we know about the significance of psychological science to oral communication teaching. We can also get the relationships of listen, talk and exchange in oral communication, and know about the status and questions of oral communication teaching. A conclusion got from the discussion about the results of teaching experiments that the penetration of psychological science has great significance in improving the teaching of oral communication.The third part tells the teaching model of oral communication based on psychology. The author has a research in the teaching model of oral communication in order to explain the method of the penetration. The four teaching models concluded are guided by the disciplines of psychology. So through the theoretical and operational elaboration, it can help the future scholars studying better and the educators operating. And then increase the breadth and depth of application of psychology into oral communication teaching.As a study involving two fields, it is necessary to consider the psychological research methods and methods of language teaching. Therefore the thesis combines qualitative research and quantitative research. It has the theoretical prove and experiment research and solves problems with figures. It increases the science of research process and the preciseness of research result.Trough the study about theoretical analysis and experimental prove and discussing about the teaching model, we can conclude that psychological science has significance in effects of oral communication teaching.
