Conflicts between teachers and students are "opposition, differences and mutual interferences due to the differences in the targets, values, resources between teachers and students". Our country is in the process of rapid changes and rapid developments, so these social transformations bring new challenges to school education. Under this background, the originally widespread conflicts between teachers and students are intensified. Zhongshan X Senior Middle School is a public full-time boarding school under the direction of the city’s bureau of education. It was transformed from a normal school of the city in2000. Since the transformation, the school has recruited a lot of inexperienced new teachers, some of the experienced teachers have not got used to the change of teaching styles, there are not enough high quality students, there are too many students in one class, and so on. Thus the difficulties of school management has increased and the conflicts between teachers and students have been commonly seen, which seriously affected the development of students and the passion of the teachers and therefore leads to the inharmony of the school.In order to understand the present situation of the conflicts between teachers and students in X Senior Middle School, the author designs a questionnaire to investigate the teachers and students of this school as well as to analyze the reasons of the conflicts. Then the author finds out that the internal causes and external causes, subjective factors and objective factors are mixed together. The main causes include the following three aspects:the mismanagement of the school, the relatively low management quality of the teachers and the poor performance of the students. However, as students are underage who receive education, their minds is developing and immature; they lack abundant life experiences and the right ways to deal with interpersonal relations; besides, the examination-oriented education brings unbearable mental and physical stresses to the students. As a result, the students become the focus of all kinds of contradictions at school, which leads to the students’disrespect to the teachers and their lack of interest in study. Consequently, the students are not supposed to should the main responsibility of the conflicts between teachers and students. Based on the above analysis, the author puts forward the defused strategies of conflicts between teachers and students in terms of school management strategies and teacher responding strategies. School management strategies include carrying out humanized management towards teachers and students, establishing multivariate evaluation mechanism, setting up good consultation platforms for the teachers and students and providing timely psychological consultations for the students. The teacher responding strategies contain changing the ideas of management and teaching, establishing good images, founding excellent classes, strengthening the investment of affection, tolerating the so-called problematic students and raising the wisdom of teaching.
