Research on career maturity is a new field of human resource management in therecent years, but this field is comparatively mature in the study abroad, which requiresour greater effort of our country’s scholars on this aspect. Currently, studies on careermaturity are mostly confined to subjects of university students, research on careermaturity of high school students, especially influencing factors is of small numbers. Inaddition, improving methods of career maturity rarely consider the importance offamily environment, and many suggestions cannot be practiced in reality, which alsowenkens the guidance value of some reseraches.The research in this paper used the method of questionnaire survey, selectingQuestionnaire of Parenting Patterns and Questionnaire of High School Students’ Career Maturityinvestigated on426participants from Changchun’s two high schools. Results from the relevantanalysis of the collected data are as follows:1.The parenting patterns of most families are mainly warm pattern and trust pattern;only a minority mainly uses authoritarian pattern, indulgence pattern and neglectingpattern.2.There is a negative correlation between career maturity and authoritarianpattern, indulgence pattern and neglecting pattern, a positive correlation betweencareer maturity and warm pattern and trust pattern.3.In respect of gender, the career attitude and developing level of career choiceof female students are significantly higher than those of male students.4.Self-perception, career attitude, values, career choice and assessment ofconditions of students from key high schools are significantly higher than those ofstudents from non-key high schools, indicating that types of school have importantinfluence on high school students’ level of career maturity.5.Career-perception, self-perception, self-justification, career attitude, values,career choice and assessment of conditions of students from urban areas aresignificantly higher than those of students from rural areas.6.Career-perception, self-perception, self-justification, career attitude, values,career choice and assessment of conditions of students from high income family aresignificantly higher than those of low income family.7.Parental degree of education has influence on high school students’ careerattitude and values. Career attitude and values of high school students who has highparental degree of education are significantly higher than those who have low parentaldegree of education.According to the above research, researcher puts forward reasonable suggestionon improving high school students’ career maturity: parents should change theireducational ideas, and set up correct sense of family cultivation patterns.
