This paper reviews the author’s research relevant to the topic of the traditional teaching of English grammar in a Chinese senior high school. By referring to language learning theory and the theory of constructivism, and by a statistical analysis of her classroom research, the author discusses the application and influence of information technology on the teaching of English grammar. The goal of this research is to discover whether or not the use of information technology in the classroom can optimize the teaching of English grammar.The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, introducing the background and significance of the study, and looking at the problems inherent in the traditional way of teaching English grammar. The second chapter is about some teaching theories. The third chapter discusses the importance of the use of multimedia technology in teaching, in order to teach grammar more effectively. Chapter four presents the author’s research experiments and questionnaire, and some specific cases of the integration of information technology into English grammar teaching in senior high school. Chapter five presents a statistical analysis of the results and the author’s conclusion is that the use of information technology does indeed optimize the teaching of English grammar. |
